The Montpelier Theatre had one time been a classy theatre showing decent films to the town such as a Disney double feature,"Living Desert" and "Vanishing Prairie".

By the 1970’s the good films were gone from the Montpelier Theatre and ‘epics’ like "Teenage Fantasies" and "French Throat",both X-Rated were playing.

The theatre was owned by General Theatre Co.

In 1967 the theater was owned by General Theaters Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, Leonard L. Mishkind, President, in that year they owned 11 theaters, all in Ohio.
