A Matinee crowd waiting for a tram – very early sound era.

Located in the south Adelaide suburb of Colonel Light Gardens. The Garden Theatre was opened by National Theatres Ltd. on 25th July 1927. Seating was provided in orchestra and balcony levels. It was later re-named Colonel Ligh Gardens Theatre.

After closing on 28th April 1962 it was converted into a supermarket. In early-2009, the theatre was converted into a large discount chemist store.

The chemist is called Chemist King Discount Pharmacy. The building also has a mortgage broker(Mortgage Choice) and a takeaway shop(Colonels Fish & Chickhen Shop).
