This was the ‘third’ Newburgh theater operated by George Cohen back in the 1910’s and 1920’s (the Royal Theatre is listed in the 1914/1915 edition of Motion Picture Directory)
His primary outlet was Cohen’s Opera House on Broadway (which later became the Ritz Theater after 1930). His second rank theater was the Star Theater, on Lander Street north of Broadway. The Royal Theater was located on Colden Street in Newburgh, just north of Broadway.
The Royal Theater was closed around 1930, and has been demolished.
