This was the ‘third’ Newburgh theatre operated by George Cohen back in the 1910’s and 1920’s (the Royal Theatre is listed in the 1914/1915 edition of Motion Picture Directory)

His primary outlet was Cohen’s Opera House on Broadway (which later became the Ritz Theatre after 1930). His second rank theatre was the Star Theatre, on Lander Street north of Broadway. The Royal Theatre was located on Colden Street in Newburgh, just north of Broadway.

The Royal Theater was closed around 1930, and has been demolished.
