Called the Concord Mall 2, it was not part of the shopping mall but part of another building in its parking lot. The building/strip mall also contained a Pathmark grocery store.
The Pathmark eventually moved across the Concord Pike/202 to another strip mall and the theater eventually closed down. The strip is now home to Best Buy (on the side where the theater was), Ulta and Barnes & Noble (on the grocery store side).

Saw superman 2 here in summer of 81.. It’s now a best buy.. Theater lasted until like mid 90’s… it was like an arthouse theater towards the end. Amityville 2 played here in 1982…
Academy Award winning director Luke Matheny applied for an Usher position at the Concord Mall II in 1993. He was not hired and had to work at the nearby Subway restaurant. He did however see “Joe versus the Volcano” here which was an inspiration for his 2010 film “God of Love” which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.
Saw so many movies here – King Kong (‘76), Superman 1 & II, Outland, Aliens etc. etc. Now just I buy movies there at Best Buy. :(
MadMan played here in jan of 1982…
I must have seen dozens of movies at this cinema. The last time I was anywhere near this place it was still a theater and it was still next door to the Pathmark. Wow, I feel old now…
Lethal Weapon and some kind of wonderful played here together in March 0f 1987.
