The Odeon chain opened the Varscona Theatre around 1944. The single-screen theatre seated 499. Famous Players took over running the Varscona Theatre in 1982.
The Varscona Theatre was closed in 1986 and later demolished. A Shoppers Drug Mart now stands on the theatre site.
