A theater on one of the military bases in Honolulu, the Richardson Theatre started construction on January 27, 1947. Upon completion on May 12, 1948, it had cost over $800,000 to complete. Architect of the theater was Cole McFarlane.

The theatre would also be used for live performances, training, and disaster shelter. One source states movies stopped showing there in 1987, while another says it was in the mid-1990’s. The theatre would be used by the Army Community Theatre.
