Opened on November 24,1999…the Carousel Grande Luxury Cinemas are the only theatres in the greater Triad area to show smaller, independent ‘arthouse’ style films and foreign releases. There is a reowned Bistro Lounge with a few screens. You can purchase more upscale treats and even beer and wine items in the Lounge. The screens at the Bistro Lounge are much smaller with only 3 to 4 rows of leather seats instead of the auditorium style seating. These are the screens that show the more independent, limited release fare along with its foreign and Bollywood releases. The larger screens immediately to the left and right of the lobby show the more commercialized films. Some of the movies I’ve seen here are “Juno”, “Hard Candy”,“Brokeback Mountain”,“Chloe”,and “Lust and Caution”. More recently they continue to show groundbreaking material like “Silver Linings Playbook”,“Before Midnight”,“Kon-Tiki”,and “Fill The Void” and much more.
