Located in St. Ives, Cornwall. It appears that, prior to conversion to a cinema, this had been a dance hall. As a cinema, it was first run by Penzance Cinemas Ltd, then by Cecil Drage, but it appears to have had several uses, depending on demand and the season. It was equipped with Morrison sound, an 18ft wide proscenium, a 14ft deep stage and two dressing rooms. It closed in 1939 when the Royal Cinema opened. In June 2013 (when, despite the camera data, my photographs were taken) it was used as a sculptor’s workshop and for storage.
