Imperial Hall

In Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, Thomas May opened the Imperial Hall in 1928. It started life as a theatre and concert hall but soon moved over to films, which continued until around 1936. It had a 20 feet deep stage.

The Imperial Hall was later used for other entertainments but closed in the 1950’s. It became a furniture store for a while but then became the warehouse and offices for Pyrkes Transport Ltd.
