Picture House

Located in Moreton, Wirrel, Merseyside, Cheshire. The Ye Olde English Picture House was opened on 30th April 1921 with Florence Billings in “Wit Wins”. It was operated by Cheshire Picture Halls. Equipped with British Thomson Houston(BTH) sound system in 1930, it was taken over by S.M. Super Cinemas in 1932 and re-named Picture House.

In 1954 it was taken over by the Newcastle upon Tyne based Essoldo Circuit. The Picture House was closed as a cinema on 28th March 1964, and was converted into a bingo club. Later known as the Windsor Bingo Club, and finally as the Top Ten Bingo Club, it had closed by 2012, and the building was ‘For Sale. It was converted into a fitness club.

Opened on 30th April 1921 film ‘Wit Wins’ starring Florence Billings. Closed 28th March 1964. Then Bingo until 2012. Now Fitness club.
