The Royal Super Cinema was opened in summer 1923. In 1930 it was equipped with a British Talking Picture(BTP) sound system. The Royal Super Cinema was taken over by the Hutchinson Group in 1960 and went over to screening foreign film from 1967 when it was re-named Royal Continentale Cinema. It was closed in the 1970’s.
