Eastville Hippodrome

Located in the Easton district of northeast Bristol. The Eastville Hippodrome was opened by George Allen in 1913. Designed by Bristol architect W.H. Watkins, it had its screen just behind the street façade, so audience members entered with theirs backs to the screen.

It was closed in 1959 and became a car salesroom, followed by use as a cash & carry store. In recent years it has become a carpet store.
