Located in the Balby district of Doncaster, 1½ miles south west of the town centre. It was opened in 1921 and by 1931 had been fitted with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. It is still listed in 1954 [with 644 seats] when it had been taken over by Star Cinemas of Leeds. It was closed on 11th June 1960 and became a warehouse. The front of the building and the foyer have been demolished.
Does the big F on the facade mean anything? In 2005 it was being used as a car wash. It later became an Oriental Foods warehouse but they had vacated by 2008. By 2017 the building was possibly in use for storage.

The big F on the facade was due to its use as a food warehouse by the Doncaster supermarket Chain Fairway, the chain was sold and became Gateway in the 1980’s.
