Blue Walnut Cafe Cinema

The Blue Walnut Cafe is a small, fully licensed cafe, open six days a week, in the Chelston suburb of Torquay, Devon. Around 2005, then-owner Mike Edmonds created an authentic, self-contained, nickelodeon with period tip-up cinema seats from the Festival Theatre in nearby Paignton. Current owners David and Jane Schofield acquired the cafe in October 2014. The digital projection uses a 7.1 Dolby Digital surround sound system, electrically operated 4.3 and 16.9 wide screen ratios, with HD TV, VHS, DVD, HDMI and Blu-ray capabilities. The Blue Walnut Film Club holds regular screenings, or the cinema can be hired out for private parties.
