Grand Cinema

Situated on the corner of Lugley Street and Mill Street in Newport, on the Isle of Wight, the Grand Cinema opened as a live theatre, later becoming a cinema. It had a single storey, flat-floored auditorium, but with boxes at the rear. It was owned by Isle of Wight Theatres Ltd. Closed in 1962, it was gutted and used for many years as a furniture warehouse by John Blundell Ltd. In May 1999 it was boarded up. It had been demolished by 2015 and a Travelodge Hotel has been built on the site.

As can be seen from Street View (above), the Grand has been demolished. A Travelodge hotel stands on the site.
