Cinema

In the small Cornish town of Bugle, midway between Bodmin and St. Austell, the Cinema opened in 1920. The building must be deceptively large, as the modest structure I photographed had two dressing rooms and a 30ft deep stage for occasional variety acts.

In 1926, it was owned by Arthur J. Honey (who might have been the original owner); by 1928 the owners were Arthur and Mrs Barnett.

It is believed the Cinema closed at the end of the silent period, around 1931 or 1932.

The building was subsequently used as a warehouse and has since been demolished with housing built on the site.
