Famous Players opened the Fraser Mall Cinema at the Fraser Mall in Gander in 1972. The single-screen theatre seated 513.
Empire Theatres took over operations of the Fraser Mall Cinema in the late-1980’s, followed by a succession of independent owners from 1998 until it was forced to close by mall management on March 31, 2007. The former theatre space has since been renovated for office space within the mall.
