The Plaza Theatre was opened in 1914. It was closed in October 1956. On September 28, 1957 it reopened as the Palms Theatre. On October 12, 1961 it became the Downtown Art Theatre and finally the Downtown Arts Theatre.

Operated from 1914 until its closing in October of 1956.
Water Winter Wonderland’s page for the Plaza Theatre says that it was also known as the Palms and the Downtown Arts. An item mentioning the Palms in Boxoffice in June, 1959, is cited.
On September 28, 1957 rebooted as the Palms Theatre. On October 12, 1961 rebooted as the Downtown Art Theatre and later the Downtown Arts Theatre. Closed in 1970 as part of an urban renewal project.
