The Family Theatre was one of the Komm Circuit theatres that lined the South Broadway Shopping district. Komm was a family oriented man and maintained his theatres in that manner. Located at 1611 South Broadway the theatre seated 688 on one floor.
The theatre always featured family oriented movies. Once in a while a personality would grace the stage of the Family Theatre with special programming. Nothing remarkable about the Family Theatre, but another clean and well maintained theatre.
The Family Theatre closed in 1951 and was later turned into a furniture store which operated for many years. By 2009 it was in use as a Union Hall. If you look close at the building you can still see that it was once a theatre.
