Located in the Fingal district of Rush, County Dublin. The Savoy Cinema opened in 1937 and also staged plays and variety. It was initially run by Tailteann Theatres but suffered fire damage on 26th December 1953. It reopened on 17 July 1955 as the Tideway Cinema run originally by the Keans, siblings of the original owner. The reconstruction was by architect William O’Dwyer and the opening was attended by various stars of the day including actor Joe Lynch. It had 450 seats and a Philips sound system fitted. The proscenium was 25ft wide. It was gutted by fire 25th March 1979, when it was mentioned that it had closed over 18 months ago. At the time it was owned by Joe Mulvey, a solicitor. It was demolished in the 1990’s and the site redeveloped.
