Rialto Super Cinema

Located in a quiet backstreet, the Rialto Super Cinema was opened around 1926. It had a Tudor style exterior. Seating was provided all on a single floor. It had a 30ft wide proscenium and the stage was 8ft deep. Around 1929 it was equipped with a RCA sound system.

Always independently operated, the Rialto Super Cinema was closed in April 1962, although it was still listed in editions of Kine Yearbook through to 1966. It was converted into a bingo club, which was still operating in 1990. It has since been demolished and in August 2014 was vacant land.
