Opened in 1921 as the Ozark Theater it was built in Spanish Mission revival style. One of the oldest remaining motion picture houses in St. Louis and is located in the Webster Groves district. It used to have an outdoor “airdome” alongside for viewing films in warm weather.
Major renovation was completed in 2010 (see photos on the Official Related Website to the right of this page).

I’m so excited they are renovating this theater. I spent many many happy hours there as a little kid in the fifties, when it was the OzÃ¥rk, and lucky me—within walking distance of my childhood home. Does anyone know the timeline on the preservation?

The architect was the firm of Kennerly & Stiegemeyer.
Looks like renovations are finished – it is now advertised as a 9,000 square foot sales/show space. The exterior looks great!
