Located at the corner of Baring Street and Gladstone Street in South Shields, Tyne & Wear. The Baring Street Methodist Church was constructed in 1883 and operated until 1903. It was a corrugated iron structure, and was affectionately known as the ‘tin cathedral’. It operated as the Excelsior Picture Hall from December 1903 until 1917. It became the Woodbine laundry and later was used as a wood store.

It has been demolished and housing now stands on the site.
