There doesn’t seem to be much information on this cinema but I know it was built in 1913 and was a cinema till 1960.
In 1956, was the scene of a riot, during a showing of “Rock Around the Clock” when Teddy boys jived in the aisles and slashed seats. After closure, it became a bingo hall and, more recently, a snooker hall. I have played snooker there and it seems in good condition.
If anyone can shed any light on the history of this gem it would be very welcome.
