According to the Friona Star newspaper, Ray Landrum opened the Regal Theatre on Main Street in Friona in January of 1937. He moved the theatre in 1939 to the corner of Sixth Street and Euclid Street in a building owned by F.S. Truitt. The opening show at his new location was on Saturday night, April 22, 1939. In March of 1943, Ray Landrum sold his theatre to Bill McGlothlin. Mr. McGlothlin continued to own and operate the Regal Theatre until his retirement in 1972 when the theatre closed.
