Located in the Hillfields district to the east of the city centre at the corner of Paynes Lane and Far Gosford Street. The building had originally been built as the Humber bicycle factory which suffered damage in a 1908 fire and was repaired to be converted into shop units. One of those shop units was converted into the Coronet Cinema in 1911 to the plans of architect Walter Hattrell. The cinema was reached through an arched passageway and upstairs to the auditorium above the shop. Seating was provided on long wooden benches. The Coronet Cinema was closed in 1913. This part of the building was demolished in March/April 1987 to make way for Sky View Way road which also removed Paynes Lane. A section of the building on Far Gosford Street was until recently a branch of Lloyds Bank, which is vacant in 2022.
