Everyman Northallerton

In Nothallerton, North Yorkshire, work began on the £17m Treadmills development in September 2019. The scheme has seen the town’s former Victorian prison transformed into a major retail, leisure and digital work hub. The development partners were Hambleton District Council and Wykeland Group.

In January 2022, the Central Northallerton Development Company Ltd, which was overseeing the scheme, announced that PDR Construction, the principal contractors for the final phase, were unable to fulfil their obligations. One of the projects that was still to be delivered was the Everyman Cinema, so its opening was delayed while a new contractor was engaged, and it did not open its doors until Friday 19th May 2023.

Seating capacities are: Screen 1:104, Screen 2: 66, Screen 3:52 and Screen 4:52. All have NEC laser projection, Dolby digital 7.1 sound, satellite and live show capabilities.

The opening films included “Fast X”, starring Vin Diesel, Marvel Comics' “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3”, Rachel McAdams in “Are You There God? It’s me, Margaret”, “Book Club: The Next Chapter”, starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda and Candice Bergan, and children’s favourite “Super Mario Bros. Movie”.
