The Electric Theatre was opened in 1911. It was the first purpose-built cinema in the town. In 1931 it was taken over by new management and rename Premier Cinema. It was purchased in 1932 by Oscar Deutsch who closed the Premier Cinema and it was demolished in January 1933.
The new Odeon Weston-super-Mare was built on the site, which opened on 25th May 1935 (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
