Located in Newmarket, Suffolk. The building was opened in 1850 as St. Mary’s Church Girls and Infants School. The school closed in 1939 and the building was converted into a restaurant named the Fitzroy Tea Rooms and was also used as a British restaurant that was used by service men & women.

It was renamed King’s Hall after Captain Herbert Ryder King and opened as a live theatre in February 1955 with the Nomads Theatre Group staging of “The Murder in the Red Barn”. It was renamed King’s Theatre in 1972. It was renovated in the 1980’s.

On 5th April 2024 it reopened as the Newmarket Cinema. Live theatre productions by the Nomads Theatre Group will also be a part of the programming.
