The Pavilion in the Pleasure Grounds was sub-divided into three rooms in 1913. There was a room for a cinema, another for a ballroom and a third for a theatre. Each room had capacity for 1,000 persons. The Pavilion opened for films on 10th July 1914.

The Belfast and Ulster Street Directory (1917) listed the operator as the Winter Gardens Co. Ltd. The Pavilion had a short life, being demolished circa 1920.

The site, next to the Railway Station, was home to Barry’s Amusements from 1926. Barry’s was an institution in the town until 2021 after which it was succeeded by Curry’s Fun Parks (from 2022).
