Warwick Theatre

Viewing: Photo | Street View

One of the many Boller Brothers theatres built in Kansas City. The Warwick Theatre opened in 1912 in Colonial Revival style. It seated 1,022 on two floors. One of the noted aspects in its decoration was the rich red velvet draperies that adorned the stage and the matching seating material. The Warwick closed in 1953.

I believe this building is owned by the same owner as the Uptown in KC, MO. Until recently the Warwick housed Soreal Design which has now moved. The building is currently for sale or lease-

I’ve heard this is mostly stripped inside & not much representing a theatre is left because it held a department type store at one time. Looking through the window it seems to have a concession stand counter, though if it is original or retro-fitted I don’t know.

The google street view indicates “Soreal Design” is located there, and the ariel view says “City in Motion School of Dance” . At least it’s occupied, and the front facade (a nice classical romanesque design) looks in great shape.

…so it’s not Soreal design, the comment above says that moved. But the signs are still there. So is it vacant or has something else moved in I wonder.
