Opened in 1914 as a neighbourhood nickelodeon, this theatre achieved incredible longevity thanks to its location on West Wellington Street, and its owner’s decision to wire it for sound. It is remembered as the Columbia Theatre by many, and by the early 1940’s it had been renamed Nola Theatre. It ended its movie exhibition life in 1948 when Odeon shifted its operations to the larger Elmdale Theatre down the street. It was demolished in 1972.
