Howard Crane-designed theater to be converted to residential/retail
LINCOLN PARK, MI — The Park Theatre has had many uses in its 80+ years including concert venue and adult theatre. It’s now slated to become a mixed-use property with residential and retail.

Short-lived Monroe 6 purchased by city
MONROE, NY — The Monroe 6’s next chapter is set after the city purchased it last week. It will serve as municipal offices and even as a court as their current one isn’t easily accessible for those with mobility issues.

Arson determined as cause of fire that severely damaged Parma Theater
PARMA, OH — After closing two months ago, the Parma Theatre suffered a fire two weeks ago. It’s now been brought to light that the fire was intentionally set.

Closed since 2003, Midway Mall’s Cinema 5 reopens after renovations
SHERMAN, TX — The Midway Theatres has reopened after almost ten dark years. It was completely gutted and now patrons can enter the theatre with food from anywhere in the mall.

Rave CityPlace in Kalamzoo to close in January and may reopen after renovations
KALAMAZOO, MI — The Rave CityPlace 14 in downtown Kalamazoo will close in January. There are reports that it will be taken over by another theater operator and will reopen in the spring after renovations are completed. Rave’s other theaters in Michigan are in Ypsilanti and Flint.

Historic theatre in Beverly Hills trying to find its place
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Fine Arts Theater continues to be on the market for $4 Million. Still intact, the theatre which has most recently presented art-house films and industry screenings is looking for a generous buyer that will find a way to keep it in the L.A. cinema landscape. The city and local residents are behind but no one knows quite do with it and the fact that it’s in a quiet neighborhood doesn’t help.

Crest Theatre likely to lose two of its three screens
SACRAMENTO, CA — The independent Crest is losing its two downstairs screens to a potential business like a restaurant or jazz club. The 975 seat upstairs theater will remain intact.
