LOMBARD, IL — Restoration work on the 1928 DuPage Theatre in downtown Lombard is moving ahead, according to the DuPage Theatre Foundation, a non-profit group which recently signed a 20-year lease with the village of Lombard.

The group intends on restoring the long-shuttered movie palace and reopening it as a cultural center. The price of the project is estimated at $6.5 million.

In the meantime, the foundation is hosting a meeting tonight at the Lombard Village Hall (255 E. Wilson Avenue), at 7:30pm, for contractors and anyone else who might be interested in donating their services and materials towards the restoration effort.

More information is also available in this story from the Chicago Tribune.
