Interested in the history of New York film exhibition? Toby Talbot, co-owner of the New Yorker Theater and author of The New Yorker Theater and Other Scenes from a Life at the Movies (CUP, 2010) will be speaking on Sunday December 2nd alongside Ross Melnick, author of American Showman: Samuel ‘Roxy’ Rothafel and the Birth of the Entertainment Industry (CUP, 2012) at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan at 1pm. The event will be moderated by film critic, writer, and teacher, Philip Lopate. Link
