Since Nelson Page took over, has anything been changed since the last time I went there? I hope they installed digital sound in both screens and improved the projection and snacks.
One major splice was during the trailer for “Love Happens”, in which a scene with Jennifer Aniston got sped up and cut. BTW, I checked the theater’s website and the pricing charge will be the same as Rockaway’s…$3. I would prefer going to Rockaway with its stadium seating and all digital sound rather than this dying theater, which is like every other rundown Loews theater that AMC ruined.
I hope they play the new Michael Jackson trailer before “Meatballs”, probably in 3D. They will also show it in 2D alongside other movies coming out this weekend. I saw the trailer online and this movie will be playing nationwide. Hope Rockaway picks that movie as their next 3D movie after the “Toy Story” double feature comes out and before “A Christmas Carol” arrives. After that, the next 3D movie will be “Avatar”, and that will play for a long time until “Alice In Wonderland” arrives. I heard rumors that “Iron Man 2” will be in 3D, and the film version of the videogame “Prince of Persia” will have post-production 3-D.
Last night, the MTV VMAs were shown live at this place. The Michael Jackson tribute was the best part of the show, and also Taylor Swift coming out of the nearby train station exit near the entrance to the theater was pretty cool. Next big event will be the LOTR film concert, and the Xmas show!!!!
the next 3d movie to play will be Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Advance ticketing is now available for a bunch of movies, including New Moon. Is there advance tickets for Avatar yet? So far, I know it’s only the IMAX 3D version.
BTW, has attendance increased at this theater since the 3D was installed? I know some people who went to nearby theaters that have 3D before this theater got 3D. This theater has a better projection system for digital content (4k) than the Clearviews around the area, which will soon upgrade to the 4k format soon.
Seems that The Final Destination was the #1 destination for moviegoers at the box office, especially the 3-D version. It might lose some of its audience during the next few weekends as newer films try to compete against the film. Rockaway also has this movie playing in 35mm 2D for those who can’t get tickets to the 3-D shows.
Went to a 12:30 showing of “G.I.Joe” in digital projection in theater #8 today, and it was worth watching. There was some blurryness on some shots, especially during action scenes, but other than that the sound was clear (although it was in psuedo-surround sound) and the crowd behaved. Two 3-D movies are playing at this theater, The Final Destination and G-Force (still in 3-D more than a month after it came out). Hopefully they get 4k projection just like what AMC is doing to its local theaters around the area.
Not too far from where this theater (now Best Buy) stands, a small plane landed at the parking lot between JC Penney and Toys R Us, and thankfully the pilot survived. The parking lots near the mall and stores have been proven to be quite popular for emergency plane landings, as Morristown and Lincoln Park airports are close by.
A few hours ago, a small plane made an emergency landing at the parking lot between JC Penney and Toys R Us, just right around the circle from the Rockaway theater. Thankfully, the pilot survived. Maybe he could go see a 3-D movie if he had some time.
if this theater gets 4k, then it will be worth the wait for those who go there, especially my former high school friends who go to Ridgefield High School.
When this theater gets 4k projection, then it will have an advantage over Mansfield, and to a bigger extent, the Washington theaters, which have 35mm projection.
Since Rockaway got 3D, I won’t have to go back to Clifton Commons to see a 3D movie at an AMC theater..hopefully AMC upgrades the screens with 4k….does THX still check the two screens? Also I watched a report on News 12 that crime issues have increased near the theater and other stores in which cars have been stolen or broken into….thankfully I don’t go to this place as I used to in its early years.
Looks more attractive than the old Meadows Six, and best of all, it will have stadium seating and digital projection and sound. Too bad moviegoers who have AMC cards won’t use it at this theater once the Meadows six closes, leaving moviegoers to drive to the many AMC theaters surrounding Secaucus. BTW, how’s progress going on the giant Xanadu theater?

Maybe the AMC in Rockaway killed this theater.

Thank god it wasn’t the current one that people go to today.

went to see all about steve in theater 1. sound was dolby stereo and projection was a bit blurry. minor splices during trailers.
This theater will rather get 4k projection.
Sony 4k to be installed at this theater soon…

any word on when digital projection comes to this theater?
Any updates on when 4k projection is coming to this theater?
BTW, I hope they get digital projection in one of those screens just in time for Avatar.
I hope this theater gets the same digital projection that other clearviews have.
recently a 4k screen was installed at this theater.

Will this theater be upgraded for Sony 4k? And what’s the latest on the Cinemark project at the Poconos?
