I think the marquee is probably been redone by now. I know when I was in Cincinnati for Cinematour the managers at one of the theatres said that they were taking down/covering all the marquees. When you think about it people don’t really look at them anymore because they 1) expect every theatre is showing every movie regardless of the zone they’re in and 2) they used the internet instead.
Colorado Cinemas did not operate this theatre nor did it open the Bowles Crossing. Mann closed this theatre and opened Bowles Crossing. Where on earth are you getting your information!?
Chuck — all of the opening dates listed for Century Theatres on Cinematour are 99.99999% correct. I’m sure you’re finding newspaper references but if you’d rather you can use the dates there. I used to work for Century and had very detailed records about the openings and closings of most theatres.
I don’t think it’s “zone” that has anything to do with it. Many theatre chains have multiple theatres in the same booking zones. I think it’s a matter of whether or not competition would be prohibited by Cineplex owning two theatres in the same area. At least — that’s how it would be in the US. I don’t know about Canada.
I’m pretty darn sure Cinemark will remodel the whole place. I think they HAVE to. How else will people get over going back there? #9 will probably be turned into an XD theatre with leather seats and huge screen.
I used to do audits at this theatre every chance I could. (I love Denver). I can close my eyes and see exactly what things look like. I used to spend hours at that theatre early in the morning and late at night. What’s also creepy is that the theatre is nearly identical to four other Centurys so I’m sure people working at those can imagine as well.

Cinemark plans on closing this theatre on 10/25/2012 the day prior to opening its new Century Riverpark 16 in nearby Oxnard.

With the remodel happening it’s a bit frustrating that there aren’t any pictures posted of the theatre in it’s Cineplex Odeon state.

Probably time to update the summary above as a new theatre was not built in its place, the same one was renovated.

I don’t think this was ever owned by Colorado Cinemas or Kerasotes. Mann closed it in 2003.

That’s not confusing in a land full of Century Theatres.
Not surprising at all. San Francisco is probably extremely difficult to build in, let alone an historic building.
Way cool. I bet a bowling alley under the domes will be pretty fun.
No good reason to develop land right now if there are no retail tenants to fill it or people buying houses.
