Most of the 3D films are especially made for kids. Do not think adults are actually enthralled by the process. How many films in 3D are made for the adult audience?
Great memories of many Saturday afternoons spent at the Hyway in the late 40’s and early 50’s. Double features, a serial chapter and sometimes 10 cartoons. (Popeye, Might Mouse, Little Lulu etc.) Also, races with many ethnic characters riding the horses. They could never show that type of film today. Candy was 6 cents, popcorn a dime and admission was 25 cents.
Security is very bad around the theater. Had a car stolen from the parking lot several years ago. The parking lot lighting was also bad and made it very unsafe
Seeing a picture there reminds me of my old high school basement. Very high prices for such an outdated theater. Unfortunately, there are very few “art” theaters around.
Sad how many theaters have disappeared over the years. On the other hand, if this were not the case, there would be no need for the CT website.

All this fuss about 3D. I predict within two years there will be no more 3D

Nice to see an old theater that has survived the wrecker’s ball or is in sad shape.
This website is filled with “what used to be”
Very sad.
Very sad to see what happens to many old grand theaters
Does anyone really think that 3D is worth the effort?
Is the theater actually closed now?
how silly is that?
Does anyone remember the State Theater in Paterson?
What is the latest on the Fabian Theater?
Great Pictute!

Sad to see the Hyway go. Just another example of a local movie theatre disappearing.
It might help of the city name was correctly spelled. It is “Paterson”
The theater was in the Willowbrook Mall
The theater is a shell of it’s former self. Surprised it is still around.

Seeing the theater this summer was as depressing as the town is.

The place is an eyesore…should be demolished!
