This theatre had the Australian premiere of the 1957 film “The Shiralee” which was filmed in the Scone district. Closed in 1983/1984(?) reopened in 1988 after minor renovations, closing again in 1992, and reopened the same year. Desingated a World heritage site on 21/3/2003.
The Paramount Theatre had the World Premiere preview of the movie Can’t stop the music" on 1/6/1980. The after party was held at Maxy’s Roller disco(in the old Plaza Theatee building).
