The Carver Theater was located on Oak Street near Tebeau Street. It was a movie theater that was patronized mainly by African-Americans. The Carver Theater closed in the 1970’s. Any additional information on this theater would be appreciated.

This is a photo of the former Carver Theater.
Unfortunately, the link above won’t let you enlarge the images. There are pictures of the Carver and the Lyric in Waycross, but until they fix the site you might want to use a magnifying glass:

Opened by the Georgia Theatre Co. in 1950. Seating listed at 420.
I took pictures of the LYRIC theatre in the late 80’s it looked like it was used for storage. There was another theatre in town that was running local plays,Took pictures there, but can’t remember the name. Also visited the old DRIVE-IN there and got some pictures.
Ken Mc, they must have fixed the site, I can enlarge all the thumbnails.
I think the other theatre in town that was running local plays was called THE RITZ? I got a tour of that theatre and took some shots.I THINK IT WAS the RITZ Theatre.
