Located in the centre of Brussels, this opened before World War I and was named Tour du Monde. In the 1920’s it became La Cigale, referred to as the ‘Parisian theatre’. Then in the 1940’s it was re-named Cinevox, and was a theatre neighbouring the Palladium, on Rue Neuve 35 for a time.
In 1954 after renovating it reopened under the name Astor Cinema, with Marlon Brando in “On the Waterfront” in a first run as the opening programme. It later become mostly a second run movie theatre and closed in 1976.
