St. James Theatre

The Star Picture Theatre opened on September 28th, 1922 with Douglas Fairbanks in “The Mark of Zorro”. It was later re-named Star Theatre. In 1935 the Star Theatre was refurbished and re-opened as the New Star Theatre. Around 1938 the name was changed to the St. James Theatre.

The St. James Theatre closed in 1965, and has since been demolished.

The building there now is a dentist(Preston Smiles), telephone store(Eastern Telecom)(now empty and for lease), and a cash loans store(Cash stop)(now empty and for lease).
