The Victory Theatre opened its doors in December 1910, then known as the Empire Theatre, due to its adjacent location to a hotel of the same name.

It began life as a live stage venue, showcasing the likes of Harry Lauder, Sophie Tucker and Eva Tanguay. However, after its sale in 1930, the Victory Theatre was transformed into a motion picture house. It was closed by Cineplex-Odeon sometime in the mid-1950s.

The building currently services the poor and those in need of extra care.
