The Beecher Theatre was built in 1926 as a theater for the black community. A rather simple sturdy building. It was closed in 1950, and now houses a Zion Baptist Church.

If the policy of the website is to list theatres that have been converted to churches as closed, then this one needs to have the status changed.
This theater was named for the author Harriet Beecher Stowe who wrote,“Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, her home is situated close by and is a museum of sorts today.
