All that is now known about the Cimarron Theatre is that is was located inside the Dewey Building in downtown Guthrie. It was opened in 1945 and closed in 1955.

This is a view of the Cimmaron Theatre location a hundred years later. It is now a business named Above the Rest,

Oops, State Theatre is actually to the left of the Cimmaron.

I remember the Cimmaron theater being on the nw corner of Division and Oklahoma. The State was in about the middle of the block. That would have been in the late ‘40s and early '50s. Showed third run movies, cheap.

My great-grandparents - Dudley R. Tucker I & Elizabeth A. Irwin-Tucker, owned this theater. My great -grandmother lived in the apartment above the theater.
