Located in the north Birmingham suburb of Perry Barr. Opened on 25th September 1913 as the Birchfield Picturedrome. Designed by the architectural firm Scott & Weedon. The proprietors were the Birchfield Picture House Co. Seating was provided for 930 in stalls and circle.
The cinema was modernised in the 1950’s when CinemaScope came out. The CinemaScope installation was considered the first in the suburbs of Birmingham. Closed on 3rd March 1962 with Mitzi Gaynor in “South Pacific”. Soon after it was demolished and the site became a Woolworth’s store.
