Premier cinema, Macclesfield

The Premier Picture House was opened in 1919. It had a 24 feet wide proscenium. By 1929, it was part of the H.D. Moorehouse circuit. In later years it was operated by the company who operated the towns' Majestic Cinema.

The Premier Picture House was fitted with CinemaScope in the mid-1950’s and had a 26 feet wide screen. It closed in 1959 and was a car showroom for a number of years. Now demolished it is now the site of B&Q DIY Store.
