Guildford Regent Theatre

Located in the west Sydney suburb of Guildford at the corner of Guildford Road and O'Neill Street. Originally opened in 1913 as the Elite Hall. By the 1930’s it had been re-named Regent Theatre and was operated by the Western Suburbs Cinemas chain. It was probably the smallest cinema in their chain.

Taken over by Hoyts Theatre in March 1944, at some time in the late-1940’s/early-1950’s the facade of the Regent Theatre was modernised. The Regent Theatre was closed in February 1967. In 2018 the building serves as a youth centre.

Address is north east corner of O'Neill Street and Guildford Road. I think the theatre building has not been been demolished, and has been converted into a clothing factory(name unknown?), and a senior citizens centre at tne rear of the building.
