Located in the north Birmingham district of Stockland Green. Sited on a triangular patch of land bordered by Marsh Lane & Streetly Road. The Plaza Cinema was opened on 26th December 1927 with Laura La Plante in “The Cat and the Canary” and Lewis Stone in “The Blond Saint”. Seating was provided in stalls and circle levels.
The Plaza Cinema was independently operated for all its life. It was closed on 30th September 1978 with Michael Caine in “The Swarm” and Clint Eastwood in “The Enforcer”.
The interior was gutted and it was converted into a supermarket. By 2009, it was operating as a Gala Bingo Club.
