New Regent Cinema

Viewing: Photo | Street View

Located in the west Birmingham district of Ladywood. The Ledsam Picture House was opened in 1914. It was a small neighbourhood cinema, which most likely had seating provided all on a single level.

In 1930, it was re-named Regent Cinema and was modernised in 1932, becoming the New Regent Cinema. It was closed in 1958, and has been demolished with most of the entire area redeveloped.

Here is an undated advertisement for the theatre; the caption indicates that the Ladywood Methodist Church now occupies the site.
